THE COMMITTEE

Co-Chairwoman & Head coach

SARAH CLEARY (SHE/HER)

Sarah has played football all her life, representing West Ham United Women as well as other professional clubs. She discovered a passion for teaching sports and leading teams, which naturally evolved into managing a club.

Sarah will provide overall leadership for the club while managing and leading training sessions, match tactics, and player development. Combines strategic decision-making with hands-on coaching to ensure the team’s success. Sarah has over 10 years of experience in managing a woman’s football club, successfully promoting Islington Borough ladies into the Premier division and leading them to successful FA campaigns. A passionate leader with a winning mindset who inspires confidence and champions every player’s growth.

With Fusion, Sarah’s vision is to build a football community centred on growth, development, and opportunity. A place where players can thrive, challenge themselves, and support one another both on and off the field.

Co-Chairwoman

Shafa fadli (she/her)

Shafa has always found her home in the people she played football with. The passion, energy, and camaraderie that comes with playing in a women’s football team has been the backbone of her happiness. While she appreciates the growing visibility of the women’s game, she’s also observed that many of the spaces where decisions are made are still dominated by men and shaped by traditional hierarchies.

For Shafa, Fusion represents a different kind of football environment: one built on collaboration, humility, and community-first values. A space where leadership is shared, voices are heard, and the love of the game brings people together on equal ground.

Shafa will work closely with Sarah and other committee members to lead the club’s direction, coordinate operation and drive growth & success for the club. Shafa is passionate about football and relentless in championing women in sport. She aims to use her network to grow the club’s profile, attract opportunities, and create pathways for women to thrive in the game.
